The Astroid icon, a shooting star on a green tile

One config, a whole editable site

Astroid is the opinionated meta-framework over Louise Toolkit and Astro. One typed config generates the worker, middleware, schema, and theme that an editable site on Cloudflare Workers would otherwise write by hand.
Terminal window
pnpm create astroid my-site

What you get

  • One typed config

Describe the site with defineAstroid, and Astroid generates its schema, worker, and middleware. The doctor command keeps the generated files honest.

  • Fifteen sections

The editable home page is an ordered list of sections, from a hero to pricing tiers, edited on the canvas rather than in a form.

  • A theme system

Set the brand colors in the config, and they flow through every section and every utility class.

  • Four archetypes

Marketing, storefront, wholesale, and portfolio presets decide which sections are on and which tables exist. The site tunes them from there.

  • A CLI for the whole life of a site

Scaffold with create-astroid, then dev, build, doctor, and a plan-first deploy that provisions what the site needs on Cloudflare.

  • Louise underneath

Every primitive comes from Louise Toolkit, so when an opinion stops fitting, you can drop down a layer and wire it yourself.

The layering

Dependencies flow one way: astroidjs depends on louise-toolkit, never the reverse. Louise stays unopinionated, and the opinions live here.

Astro → renderer / router / build
Louise → unopinionated primitives + framework glue (louise-toolkit)
Astroid → opinions: theme, sections, config, scaffold (astroidjs)
